I design and help others design people-centered products, experiences and teams for positive change.

 

People, culture and craft inspire me and are at the core of my work. 

I enjoy designing and helping others design whatever object, environment, experience or even team most effectively and appropriately addresses the audience. I’ve played the roles of Product Designer, Researcher, Strategist, Head of Design & UX, Graphic Designer, Apparel Designer, and even Chef and Food Entrepreneur, over the course of my career– using the transformative power of design to research and translate human needs into successful concepts.

 
 

Humanising technology

My work is founded in a toolkit of people-centered research methods to ensure we’re tackling the right problems. I’ve had the privilege of working with startups, tech giants, agencies, consultancies as well as independant change-makers; employing methods for various stages of maturity.

Building and leading design and UX at Marley Spoon & Dinnerly

↪ Built the team ground-up across user experience, research and brand design domains with a vision towards a seamless experience through our digital and physical touchpoints.

↪ Set strategic direction after an extensive audit and helped team initiate and execute several pivotal projects such as, establishing a Product Language framework, Key Experience Indicators, proactive exploratory research as a practice, a brand refresh as well as a mobile app redesign.

↪ Building an open and inclusive human-centered design culture across functions and the company at large, resulting in the founding of a design community event series called Design Exchange, and quarterly company all-hands called Mise en Place.

USER RESEARCH, STRATEGY

Leading projects at Blinkist to improve and expand the product in new, exciting ways

↪ Defined and executed the complete process from initiating and conducting research, diligent problem definition, facilitating cross-disciplinary collaboration to delivering production-ready solutions across growth as well as retention initiatives, such as the Blinkist Minute.

↪ Led several exploratory and evaluative user research projects and produced insights readily usable with a lean hypothesis-based testing framework.

↪ As a passionate advocate for a transparent, open and inclusive design culture, I facilitated areas that are traditionally outside of design verticals, such as content and performance marketing, podcast concepting to find strategies for iterative design and testing with a human-centered mindset, while continually measuring and evaluating impact.

Designing a research study of teenage pregnancies in the Dominican Republic for UNFPA

Developed a research study that would inform and create a solution to provide adolescents in the Dominican Republic access to quality, culturally sensitive and age-appropriate sexual and reproductive health information, services and supplies.

Evolving the Toyota Accessory Sales Guide website

↪ Worked on a refreshed strategy to empower dealers with accurate content and efficient tools– leading up to quicker service to their customers and therefore, better satisfaction and better business.

↪ Served as the lead user experience consultant, facilitating stakeholders discussions, user research and insights, while working with a small team of interaction and visual designers offshore.

Designing for $100M+ buyer experience pages at eBay

↪ The redesign of the $100M+ eBay Daily Deals page to scale business and improve discovery fetched an 8% rise in buying within the 2-week A/B test phase.

↪ The refreshed user experience was rolled out to accommodate thousands more deals, which were otherwise truncated for lack of a fitting discovery experience. In a short time, Daily Deals program surpassed $1B in sales, rising by 800%, since.
